The following list includes the activities and documents that have been generated during phase three of the official community plan development :
Here are some of the public activities undertaken since the project launched in May, 2011.
• “Share Your Thoughts”
1167 citizens shared what matters to them in their future Regina by completing “Share Your Thoughts” cards. The cards were available online and distributed at events by the Design Regina Ambassadors.
Feedback from the cards helped form the basis for discussion at the Public Forum in October, 2011.
• Design Regina traveling roadshow ambassadors and tent appeared at these events through the summer of 2011:

• Design Regina Speaker Series (September 22, 28 and October 4, 2011)
Reginans gathered to hear innovative ideas and insights from other cities at the Design Regina Speaker Series. This series of three lectures by prominent city planners from elsewhere included local guest panellists.
• Ideas Fair and Public Forum (October 25,26,27)
More than 200 people gathered at the Conexus Arts Centre to help shape Regina’s future. Participants took part in two evening events and two days of workshops designed to inform, inspire, and create.
It was tradeshow of ideas at the Ideas Fair. Over 20 Citizen Circles set up booths to showcase their topic of choice and presented at the “Speakers Corner.” Topics ranged from adequate funding for libraries to paying more attention to heritage and promoting dense development.
On the first day, participants broke into small groups for facilitated discussion to create a list of what they consider to be Regina’s opportunities and constraints. Over lunch, people answered questions posted on a series of interactive panels by posting stickers on their choices. The day ended with table groups creating draft “priorities” – areas of focus for Regina as we grow and develop as a community.
The second day of the Public Forum was all about neighbourhoods. Participants learned about the concept of “complete communities” and applied the principles to neighbourhoods on a map.
The Open House was a chance for everyone – forum participants, members of the public who were unable to participate, and Council, to come together and view the final product from the two days of workshops.

• Funding Announcement
FCM’s Green Municipal Fund supports the City of Regina’s sustainable community plan
Berry Vrbanovic, president of the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) and councillor for the City of Kitchener, Ontario; Tom Lukiwski, Member of Parliament for Regina—Lumsden—Lake Centre; and Mayor Pat Fiacco announced Green Municipal FundTM (GMF) grant contributions for the City of Regina at a media event held on February 21, 2012.
The City will use the $350,000 in funding for the work being done through Design Regina to develop the City’s Official Community Plan, an important long-range plan that will map out how Regina will grow physically, provide services, manage impacts to the environment and enhance social and cultural development over the next 25 years.
The Design Regina Project Team has finalized the draft Community Priorities based on the intensive public engagement process that took place over the last year.
• Public Meeting
Three Public Information Meetings were held on

at the Artesian on 13th, 2627 13th Avenue at Angus Street
Presentations began at noon, 5 and 7 p.m. and were one hour in duration.

• Stakeholder Update & Working Session
The first public engagement session of Phase 4 took place on November 21 with close to 100 stakeholders in attendance. It was intended as a check-in after the official approval of the Community Priorities. Participants were asked to discuss what the City is doing well in supporting or achieving priorities as well as the barriers that need to be addressed. A discussion guide used with this session was also made available to the public online.
