Public Review of Alterations December 2013
Public Review of Alterations to Design Regina, the Proposed Official Community Plan
The process of having Design Regina, the Official Community Plan, approved began with the Public Hearing on August 20, 2013. The decision was made to wait on adopting the Official Community Plan, pending the Administration’s consideration of comments from the Province and for mediation with the RM of the Sherwood to be complete.
As a result, alterations have been developed for the proposed Official Community Plan to:
- clarify policy related to flood protection, source water protection, economic development opportunities with First Nations, Métis, and Inuit, and concept plans;
- address the agreed upon outcomes from mediation with the Rural Municipality of Sherwood; and
- correct formatting and other non-substantive changes that have been identified.
The proposed Official Community Plan and alterations are scheduled to go before City Council for approval on Monday, December 16, 2013 at 5:30 p.m. Residents and stakeholders are invited to review the alterations and share their thoughts on what they like or what they’d like to see changed at this meeting.
After approval, the City will submit the Official Community Plan to the province; this is anticipated to take 90 days.
